The companies taking public money

Ranked by obligated value. A figure here is contract value awarded to the company — not revenue from any brand, and not evidence that a consumer product was supplied to government.

WHERE THIS STOPS

What this page will not claim

  1. 01

Obligation is not revenue. It is the value government committed on award notices in one fiscal year, not company turnover and not profit.

  2. 02

The contract is not the brand. A food manufacturer supplying a federal agency is not evidence that a named consumer brand was what it supplied.

  3. 03

Matching is by exact company name. A group filing under several legal entities will appear split, or not at all. Absence here is not evidence a company takes no public money.

  4. 04

Corporate parents are withheld. The award data carries a parent company field, but it is wrong often enough — one row makes a Swedish aircraft supplier the parent of Nestlé USA — that we do not publish it as an ownership claim.
